Two Wineries, One Table: The East vs. West Seneca Lake Dinner Series

Some events you hope will land well. Others just do - and you find yourself wanting to do them again before the night is even over. That's exactly how we felt after our first East vs. West dinner series with Boundary Breaks Vineyard last year, and honestly, year two felt even better.

For those who haven't heard about it yet, here's the idea: two Seneca Lake wineries, one on each side of the lake, coming together to celebrate what makes both shores so special. The first dinner is hosted at Boundary Breaks on the east side, where we focus on white wine pairings from both of our cellars. The second comes home to Fox Run Vineyards on the west side, where we dig into reds and rosés. If you're looking for a truly unique Finger Lakes wine dinner experience, it's a series worth doing both nights.

But here's the thing we keep noticing - and it's the part that actually means the most to us. These dinners are loud. Not in a bad way. In the best possible way. We serve everything family-style for this dinner, which is one of our favorite things about it - it naturally gets people talking across the table to guests they've never met. This year the conversation never really stopped. The dinners run a little longer than most of our other dinners, and it's not because we're behind on anything. It's because nobody is in a hurry to leave. People are genuinely enjoying themselves and each other.

In a world that feels like it's moving faster and louder in all the wrong ways, there's something really meaningful about watching a room full of people just slow down together over great Finger Lakes wine and food. But mostly it's the people, and creating a space where that can happen is something we don't take lightly.
