Assistant Winemaker Lindsey VanKeuren grew up in Penn Yan, in the heart of Finger Lakes wine country, but she never considered winemaking until moving halfway across the world to Maui and back.
After studying Theater and Broadcast Communications at SUNY Brockport, and realizing she hated auditions, she evaluated what really inspired her and made her truly happy. It was her time spent serving at the Valley Inn restaurant and in the hospitality industry. After working in hospitality in Maui and returning to Penn Yan, she took an introductory wine education course and immediately fell in love with learning about wine. In 2012, Lindsey approached winemaker Peter Bell at Fox Run’s annual Garlic Festival and asked if she could shadow him. As soon as harvest was in full swing, she knew she wanted to be a part of the Finger Lakes wine industry.
Lindsey spent a year coming in when she had extra time and learning all she could from Peter and the winemaking team. Seeing her enthusiasm, dedication, and level-headedness, she was brought on as a part of the winemaking
